Four Wisconsin tribes are busy working with out-of-state tribes, wealthy investors and influential political contributors to turn three non-reservation properties into Las Vegas-style casinos in communities across the state.
In the 2003 compact with Ho-Chunk Nation, Governor Doyle gave them five new casinos in addition to the one new casino they tried to build in Madison that was overwhelmingly defeated in a referendum. That’s SIX more casinos for one tribe.
NINE NEW CASINOS are currently in the works in Wisconsin and who knows how many more will be given as Governor Doyle continues to negotiate more deals.
